CLEVER MONKEY OF THE MONTH

Tony Blair, aka Gordon Brown:
For Arranging A New Visit To Washington, Disguised As Gordon Brown

Just when we thought Tony Blair was busy with his new job of being the first person in history to bring peace to the Middle East, he goes and finds a way to show up at the White House for one more meeting with President Bush.

Of course, we thought the recent visitor was actually the new Prime Minister of England, Gordon Brown. How naive can we be?

How do we account for the fact that the alleged Gordon Brown and George Bush seem to have agreed on virtually every topic, including the amazing coincidence that they both have the same initials.

They also smiled together, in the Blair-Bush manner of old, until they made sure every news photographer had snapped their feigned conviviality.

We decided that there could only be one explanation. Blair somehow managed to persuade Brown to stay home while he got himself up as England’s new Prime Minister and made the trip in the disguise.

And doesn’t pulling off such an unlikely maneuver merit him the distinguished title of NewsLaugh’s Clever Monkey of the Month?
